Cosmic Journey:  The Voyager Interstellar Mission and Message (DVD)

In the far reaches of the solar system, well beyond the orbit of Pluto, two small spacecraft are racing toward a boundary known as the heliopause, which marks the edge of true interstellar space. They are already the most distant manmade objects in the universe, and their travels are far from over.

COSMIC JOURNEY tells the epic story of the Voyager Project from the point of view of the scientists, engineers and support staff who made it possible. We'll examine the historic pictures that the two craft sent back from Jupiter and Saturn and see how Voyager 2 became the only probe ever to visit Uranus and Neptune. Now, more than 25 years into the project, Voyagers 1 and 2 are on their way to escaping the influence of the sun and entering the mysterious realm of the interstellar wind.

From the planning sessions decades ago to the most recent data transmitted back to earth, this is the incredible story of one of the most successful scientific missions ever undertaken.

This set is loaned for a 10 day period.  Any items to be loaned may be picked up at any regular star club meeting.   All Sirius Stargazer Members may check out items.
